Some more Canadian whisky to add to the "try" list:

Forty Creek Copper Pot Reserve

J.P. Wiser's Hopped Whisky (a flavoured whisky, but recently won an award)

J.P. Wiser's Double Still Rye

Lot 40

Picked Creek

Gooderham and Worts

@tfahey1298 I've liked everything I've tried from 40 Creek. I simply don't trust Wiser's. It might be unfair, but I think Wiser's Special Blend and Wiser's Deluxe are the two worst whiskies I've ever tasted, even when mixed with other things. I haven't tried the others you mentioned. Lot 40 and Gooderham & Wort's are definitely on my "to try" list. Thanks for the recommendations.

You realize Lot No. 40 and G&W are Wiser's products, right? As for your distrust of them, I think you'd do well in re-evaluating that opinion. Don Livermore, the master blender at Hiram Walker, is one of the most exciting people working in Canadian whisky today, and if you continue to shun the products coming out of Wiser's based on your dislike of some of their bottom shelf offerings, I think you'd be doing yourself a disservice.

@Victor, perhaps @OdysseusUnbound might enjoy the entertaining and educational Wiser's Legacy blending exercise. I would be pleased to dig into the paddockjudge archives and introduce some vintage Legacy and Lot No.40 to our new member....a couple of Nickel City boys should do just fine with a glass or three of whisky.

@paddockjudge, I am always up for the Legacy blending exercise, as you know. Perhaps we can get @OdysseusUnbound to join us one day.

@Nelom I did NOT realize that. Thanks for the info. And my cheeky remark was not hinting at any mistrust of the company itself, simply my very low opinion of those two mass-produced offerings. FWIW, I don't care for the standard Crown Royal either and I enjoyed the Northern Harvest Rye very much.

@OdysseusUnbound, I'm not a fan of the bottom shelf Wiser's core brands; however, I am fanatical when it comes to the premium and super premium releases from Wiser's/Corby's/G&W.

@paddockjudge Yes, when I search Fanatic in the dictionary, I see a photo of you with some Canadian whisky, but it's usually a bottle of Alberta Distillers rye distillate....
