Over the past few weeks I finished off a few bottles that have been open for quite some time...

Bunnahabhain 12 yr, Glenorangie 10 yr, Glenmorangie Nectar D'or, and the Ancnoc Peter Arkle 2nd Edition.

W/T 101 Rye and it was excellent. I still have a few left but there is none to be found, anywhere; not the small Indies., not the out of the way stores, none! Plenty of the new weaker version and at the old 101 price...no thank you!

Booker's Bourbon (Batch #C03-I-16, 7 yo, 63.7%) was knocked off this past weekend. An excellent bottle all the way through. It paired really well with Oh Henry! chocolate bars.

Teeling Irish @ 46% Rum Cask Finish: 'Sad to see this one go! Played with this brilliant drop for a couple of weeks and came up with the following; properly handled this Whiskey needs no water at all, is silky smooth and very engaging with a truly lovely long finish and, I might add, value for money @ Au.$49.50.

Cheers!

@teebone673, Quantum leap from the standard 12 YO to THE GLENLIVET French Oak Reserve 15 YO. The $20 upgrade (Ontario) is money well spent.

@paddockjudge couldn't agree more, my friend. The 15 is a favorite of mine and very underrated. One of the bottles I make sure to always have in the cabinet.

I'm having a Bourbon week this week, so I finished up Buffalo Trace and Elijah Craig (just to have a good reason to open the Dark Horse a friend brought from Canada on Monday ;-)

Arran 10 and Ardmore TC, both are very tasty drams and good value here on the Canadian Praires. Will restock these very soon.

A bottle of Smokehead that was kindly gifted to me by @whiskyJoe a while ago met its' end last Wednesday, while sitting on the front porch watching one heck of a thunderstorm roll through. A really enjoyable bottle that is very smoky, but is not at all one dimensional. This is especially the case after the bottle had been open about 8-10 months.

I am beginning to wonder if I ever really "finish" a bottle. I decant so much now it seems like I have a library of sample bottles from every bottle for the last few years . . .

but tonight I did decant my last bottle of Longrow CV with about 15mL left to sip. I also decanted the last of my Tomatin 25yo that I opened over 2 years ago.

Saying goodbye to nice bottles is always hard . . .

Just finished a fantasy hockey draft with my brothers-in-law, while killing off a mini-bottle (200 mL) of standard Alberta Premium that has been open for quite a while. Not too bad...though on the one dimensional side.

Sixteen months later, I finally finished my bottle of Aberlour A'bunadh batch 41. While the last several drams were not as brillant as the first couple, it was still quite enjoyable. Much better than many reviews would seem to allude to for this particular batch. I consider myself fortunately to have gotten an obviously better bottle than many. Will say that afew of the drams towards the middle drifted towards the unpleasant side, but time and oxygen seem to have made an improvement for the balance of the bottle.
