@Nozinan Exactly. Very “plain Jane”. But one I’d keep on hand for those new to scotch,if it weren’t so cost-prohibitive here.

Just finished Glen Grant 12 last night with a visiting friend, bought a second bottle today! For "only" $69 at BC Liquor store this is excellent value as my daily dram.

Just wrapped up a bottle of Laddie 10 Second Special Edition. Very nice indeed, glad I've got another one.

@BlueNote - Will be cracking mine once I've polished off the Talisker 18 . . . (sobs).

@nooch That's another one I really liked. Only had it once, though before it became very expensive.

@RianC I can only dream of having a Talisker 18 to sob over.
Cheers, enjoy.

Polished off my bottle of Colonel EH Taylor Small Batch. I bought my first bottle on a trip to New York. Went into a liquor store and asked them to recommend a bourbon. And a top recommendation it turned out to be.

Just finished a Four Roses Small Batch at my in-laws’ place. This bottle definitely got better with time. Will probably repurchase this one. Good value for money.

I poured the last dram from a very nice bottle of Jefferson's Reserve Batch 319. It was opened last fall and got better with every pour. There was enough in the bottle for two pours, one for me and one for later in a 60 ml glass mini.

@paddockjudge That's a cute little mini Glencairn - how does it compare to the Kentucky bourbon glass?

Aberlour A'Bunadh batch 46. Opened just shy of 3 years ago, open a year longer than the batch 47 I finished a couple of months ago.
It has been a very long time since I have had NO A'Bunadh open in my home. Luckily, I turn 49 shortly and there is a batch 49 waiting to be unsealed...

My Talisker 18 finally made her way to the great recycling bank in the Skye. Alas, poor beauty, I knew thee well.
A tragedy indeed. No need for the Bee Gees though as I can say that she gave me some fond memories. A lovely whisky. I know many on here can't get their hands on it but I will say that it is well worth any and all shenanigans to get your hands on a bottle!
I rated it 91 but would change that to 92 if I could.

I'm just about to finish off my Benromach 10... and I'm wondering if I'll buy another one. Probably not. It was a great one to 'familiarise' myself with something a bit more smoky, but I think I'll go to Ledaig for the 'smoke, but no medicinal peat' from now on. At least for a while. :)

A pair of Masterson's 10 Year Old Straight Rye. Delicious and worth repurchasing. Each an excellent example of oak influence on already mature Alberta rye. One finished in American Oak and the other in French Oak. At 10 years the first cask has done a great job. I'm not sure the second cask will always improve this style of whisky, although a few of these double-oaked Alberta rye releases have received extremely high praise. Stock has been replenished. I'm always looking for more of batches 001, 003, and 005.

Finishing the last of my Wild Turkey Rare Breed right now. This is a “must replace” bottle. I really enjoy the WT “house style”. It hits all the right notes for me. There’s a clarity of flavours, if that makes sense. Some bourbons and Canadian whiskies can seem a little “hazy” to my palate, but this one is incredibly well-balanced.

@OdysseusUnbound Given the price it's hard to argue with that. I almost picked one up on Sunday. I may have to reconsider...

@Nozinan You really should. While my experience with bourbon isn’t extensive at this point, Rare Breed definitely makes the shortlist for “if you could only drink ONE bourbon for the rest of your life”. That Stagg Jr though....

I just finished a Knob Creek Single Barrel. It got better as time went on, but it was still better as a mixer or on the rocks. There wasn’t enough “low-end” depth for my liking. Not bad, but not great. For $3 more, I’ll take Wild Turkey Rare Breed any day.

Finally reached the end of my always reliably enjoyable Chieftain's Clynelish 21yr 58.1%. It will be missed.

Finished off a bottle of Pulteney 17. One bottle of this lovely stuff left. I know where there are 2 more, but they are going to seriously traumatize my Visa card at Can $204 each. Also, my wife gets the statements.

@BlueNote My wife doesn't even know how much SHE spends - she never reads the statements.
That makes self-regulation a lot harder.

I keep hearing about this self-regulation but I’m not sure how to find any...

@OdysseusUnbound You might find some inside a newly purchased bottle of Wiser's Seasoned Oak... oh wait, maybe not.

My Ardbeg Dark Cove 55% is no more. The empty looked so sad in the recycling bin.

I’m finishing the last bit of my Redbreast 12 Cask Strength. It’s a sad day. If I could only drink one Irish Whiskey for the rest of my life, this one would probably be it. Heck, if I could only drink one whisk(e)y for the rest of my life, this one would make the short list for sure...
