@talexander in this age, it’s all a matter of sustainability.
There are 2 aspects to it. Sustaining the ability to buy. The LCBO makes this challenging but if you buy out of province it is possible.
The other aspect is consumption. If you can’t consume it as fast as you buy it it accumulates. At some point that becomes unsustainable.

@talexander You’ll never walk alone, brother. We should start a support group.

@Nozinan They’ll cross the border tomorrow....They don’t shop around much and it’s $115 USD at Total Wine when it’s available. That’s a bit steep. Besides, I ask them to hunt down some bourbon while they’re down there.

Nice to see High West making a return to the LCBO, Campfire, American Prairie and Yipee Ki-Yay so far showing online, no stock showing yet.

In the LCBO website, on internet explorer the inventory hangs and the site crashes.
On my phone the same site:

Is it too much to ask that the information the retailer provides be consistent across all platforms?

I just purchase with a gift card an "AnCnoc 16YO Strength Signle Malt Whisky" with an "Alcohol/Vol:46%", which I should " Enjoy with oysters or sea bass".
Jeez, I hope when I open it up this is a smoky, salty, and briny whisky. Maybe, I should take the sales representative suggestion and pick up a beer with the extra on the gift card and have a "whisky chaser".
If you don't believe me here is the link:

I have a friend who is going to be leaving Japan and returning to the Toronto area this year.
He has fairly recently gotten into whisky.
Unfortunately for him, he is about to discover the stark difference between prices here in Japan and the LCBO! Yikes...

It’s good to be back @Victor! Hope all is well with you. I was enjoying a glass of Willett Family Estate 3 yo rye the other day..... You would have enjoyed it! ; )

@fiddich1980 46% is cask strength? Or is it just "strength"? And a close-upof the bottle shows a different ABV.
HFUITLCBO? That should be a hashtag

@Nozinan The ABV on the label is 56.3%. This anCnoc 16 year old is a special release which commemorates the 125th Anniversary of Knockdhu Distillery. Their regular 16 year old at ABV 46% was discontinued a few years ago. This bottling would be my first chance to ever try a 16 year old anCnoc. The total production of this release is 3,000 bottles. AnCnoc is a distillery under the radar and their pricing for the 24 and 18 year old from that "Alberta" store is reasonable.

@CanadianNinja Good to have you back in the fold. Look forward to your input. Give us your thoughts on the An Cnoc when you crack it.

@BlueNote, Thank you sir! It’s been far too long.... Who’s cracking open the anCnoc?? Not me! .... I wish it were...

@CanadianNinja Oh, you're right, that was @fiddich1980. At my age it's easy to get confused.

No worries @BlueNote.
I’ve been frequenting the same place for coffee for the past 5 years. The price hasn’t changed.... 210¥ ($2.10)
For the past week, every time I go to pay I take 110¥ out of my pocket and am reminded of the price by girl at the counter... Haha! Getting old sucks!

On the topic of things the LCBO will undoubtedly fuck up, the BTAC lottery is up and online. I can't wait to be disappointed once again this year. Trying to keep my Oh-Fer streak going. I put in for the WLW, GTS, Handy, and both "consolation" Wellers (CYPB and Full Proof).

@OdysseusUnbound , well the Old Forester 1920 got listed today so not a bad consolation prize if shutout on the PVW/BTAC lottery. At $74.95 CAD it is in range of the US cost of around $55-$60. Have a feeling it will be gone very quickly if listed online at that price.
