Just polished off a bottle of Macallan 18. I had this bottle for some time and it took a long time to finish, but it's surely not because it's not a worthy dram.

@RobertH, I'm in the same boat. I really hate to finish my bottle of Mac 18, even though it's 375 ml. There is something in it that's satisfying with a small amount. Plus it's expensive to replace.

@Victor, this was the 92 vintage, I have a bottle of the 89 and will open that next. It will be interesting to see how it compares.

Polished off 2 bottles in the past few days...The Scapa 16 yr, and Highland Park 12 yr.

My bottle of Auchentoshan 12 (sentimental, as it was the first bottle in my cabinet that was purchased by my wonderful wife) was finished last week. It was finished exactly 16 months to the day that it was opened in great company with 'Victor', his sister, and 'dbk'. I enjoyed the bottle thoroughly (don't let the 16 month timeline for consumption mislead you) and really found that it rounded into form after about 8 months of being open. The Valinch (now sold out in Ontario after only about four months of shelf time) is now sole Auchentoshan representative in my cabinet. The 12 will return someday.
May the 'Tosh be with you.

Wild Turkey 101 Rye. A rather good example - I replaced it with another from a different outlet and it's different; opened well but without the sweetness and the intense vanilla grip. It would appear to be a much older bottle, so, maybe, it will bloom when it has breathed a little.

The girlfriend and I finished off two bottles today. The first was Famous Grouse bought as a base for mixing. The second was Slieve Foy, an 8yo Irish whisky, bought for a tasting among friends. They were both pretty low so we made some stiff mixed drinks and enjoyed the last drops.

Enjoyed the last pour of my first bottle (but certainly not the last) of Aberlour 16 with my wife last night. Really enjoyed the how the sherry influence fought a constant grudge match with the spice in this bottle, with no clear winner. Great dram.

@Wolfsong Being wary of sherried malts - I took a "chance" on the Aberlour 16 yr; needless to say I'm now a big fan of the Aberlour range.
It might be still tough to find since it came out this past spring, but I really enjoy the Aberlour 12 yr unchill-filtered.

The last bottle finished was a Talisker 57* and it was excellent! And, I have another, this one a 700ml. bot. & if anything an even more explosive, peppery, low tide masterpiece: It's been festering away for a couple of months In my large decanter (which has done it no harm at all); in fact, it seems to be even more explosive, more white peppered and intensely sea-shore driven.
The balance is superb, even though the palate fairly drips fireworks! This, I feel, is a return to an older style Talisker; one of broad cut and traditional 'thunder and lightning' flavors with an outstanding finish of pepper and salt, and even a suggestion of Golden Syrup - long and persistent and very much an old style Talisker; and the color, lazy gold with no suggestion of brown muck, if anything, with a greenish hue, in a sea of old gold, almost khahi, really...and delicious!
I do like this Talisker and it does like me!

I just finished my bottle of Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve. Since my girlfriend bought it for me as a birthday present I'm not sure if I'll be getting another one.

My bottle of Glenmorangie Sonnalta has been emptied, I will most definitely miss it.

For me, the last one to go was a Taketsuru 17 year old. A truly wonderful whisky that will have to be replaced. Almost certainly with the 21.

Couple bottles hit the bin recently. 1978 Benchmark Bourbon, Michael Collins 10 year, 1982 Old Fitzgerald Bottled in Bond and a 1969 Old Crow 10 year.

Strathisla 12...enjoyable enough to buy a dram of if available, but not quite memorable enough for me to buy another bottle in the future.

We finished the Hakushu 12 tonight. I think it was the first of the bottles we picked up on "Go Whisk(e)y Weekend" that we've finished. Also the first Japanese whiskey that we've owned. Well worth it.

Sat down with a friend and finished my bottles of Glenmorangie 10yr and Amrut Single Malt (there were two drams left in each) while playing a game of Dominion, and planning our next Scotch Tasting Evening (I lost the game by one point...)

A good friend of mine, Limeburners M66 Riesling Finished, which has been nothing less then disgustingly enjoyable. As I drink this dram I look at his big brother, the M31 which was finished in brandy barrels and is almost empty. Makes me so sad to lose these two good friends of mine, however I'll be able to crack open a new Australian whisky.

I finally tracked down a taste of the Ardbeg Airigh Nam Beist. Found it tucked away on the shelf of a whisky bar I frequent. All this time I'd been looking for it and it had been right there... and I hadn't known (it was mislabelled on the menu).
There was only a bit left... so I took the opportunity to polish off the last three drams. :)
Wrote a review if anyone is interested. Delicious stuff, although I didn't find it as complex as many people have claimed. I suspect it had been on the shelf a while, so I'm wondering if oxidization had toned down the complexity. Still the creamy chocolate notes and soft sweet peat were much enjoyed.

Just finished my first of three bottles of Johnnie Walker Green. Took about eight months, and the next bottle should last about the same. The third is to save -- not as a collectible, but as something to crack open on some special occasion, years after the Green's off the shelves.

I'm not finishing any bottles recently, although I finished off a couple of 200ml (decanted) bottles. I always seem to have a sample of everything hanging about, so I can't actually claim to be "finishing" many bottles, per se. Anyone else having the same problem?

@systemdown, yes, I am finding it very difficult to finish bottles. Either the whisky is a favourite and I will quickly want more of it when the current bottle of it is gone, or it is a lower priority bottle, so I am going to want to be drinking whiskies which I enjoy more, and have trouble devoting the majority of my consumption, even for short periods of time, to the lesser enjoyment bottles.
