@Jean-Luc I recently finished the Isle of Skye 8yr and Aberlour Abunadh batch 39 both were a surprise the blend because it was a one off bottle sitting there with no one to adopt it. The Aberlour because I had never had the Abunadh range and was blown away by the depth and complexity. :)

Finlaggan, I know it's not to everyone's taste but I just love the strong flavours and the next minute where's all the whisky gone? Their are other more refined bottles out there and I go to buy one but...

I had a fifth of Wiser's Deluxe that was pretty tasty. Nothing special, but I go for a simpler dram when I play League of Legends with my team, usually! XD

Finished off a bottle of Lombard's Golden Harvest a few days ago, and a bottle of Four Roses Yellow Label tonight.

Sadly, just finished off the last of G&M 1982 Port Ellen 27 year. I never think that I'm in the mood for an Islay dram, but, every time I have one, I remember how much I enjoy them.

Just finished off my Aberlour Abunadh batch 41. Like the batch 39 there is a lot going on in this dram. :)

Emptied my Glenfarclas 17 last night. Sad to see that last dram pour into the glass, but I will be replacing it as soon as possible. Is this my favorite whiskey? Could be. If you're interested, I wrote a review of it at maltfreak.com.

@choy How did you like the AnCnoc 12yr. Will you do a review of this whisky. :)

@PMessinger I'm a fan of the anCnoc 12 yr (IMHO it's better than it's older sibling the 16 yr).
It's nothing too complex; nice combo of vanilla/honey/citrus.

@FMichael The test for me is, Do you want a second glass? The 12 is just a bit too cloying to want a second glass. The 16, sweet but less sugary sweet, fruity but less overfillingly fruity, is much better and I could drink it all night. I have both, but the 12 is now reserved for parties, the 16 for myslelf.

@FMichael I love the 12 agree 100% with you, plus it was the first single malt I bought for myself. Have been a fan ever since. I have not yet tried the 16 but do own one in my cabinet. Glad you are a fan as well. I find it's a good whisky for lots of different reasons and categories. @Pizaro yes I always want a second glass. Stay awesome guys. :)

@Pizaro I guess that's why I like the anCnoc 12 yr more; the flavours are more pronounced where as the anCnoc 16 yr is too subtle for my liking.

@FMichael If we all liked the same whiskies, there would be far fewer of them. Let's all keep savoring and experimenting as broadly and extensively as possible. That helps keep all those wonderful distilleries alive! I rejoice in the fact that you and @PMessinger prefer the 12 and I the sixteen - that's what will keep Knockdhu thinking and growing. Can't wait to to try the 22, which hasn't reached any shelves near me yet.

Drinking the last glass of my 1st bottle of 2008 Airigh Nam Beist. Prior to this, I have only had the 2007. And yes, they are 2 different beasts. At first I was honestly let down. The 2008 bottling has a much more prominent peat polish. It took a great deal of time for that to subside and let sweetness of the 2007 to shine through. Which do I prefer? The 2007. Not even a contest. Peat lovers will prefer the 2008 for sure. Me, I want the cream and pears delivered by the 2007 - Decidedly UN-ARDBEG. The 2008 treads more familiar territory. Given time to sweat and breath, it becomes more like its younger brother. Funny. I assumed that with it being a year older, it would be smoother, better. Maybe I have just become accustomed to the charms of the 17YO. Regardless, I would buy either. Both are fine. But they are different.

My bottle of Clynelish 1993/2010 Distiller's Edition...it will be replaced shortly by a bottle of Aberlour 12 (the old, chill-filtered bottling).

Glenfarclas 12yr, This one was an early one for me and over time has never let me down. Wonderful dram. :)

Last week saw the end of my full sized bottle of Lagavulin 16 (a 2011 bottling that was the superior to a 2012 bottle that @WhiskyJoe picked up about seven months ago...a side-by-side tasting highlighted the differences to both of us). I still have a 200 ml mini in the cabinet, and a Dun Bheagan 2002 Islay should get me through any Lagavulin like cravings over the summer.
Back in April, a bottle of Te Bheag (my favourite blend so far) was laid to rest. This one will definitely come back into the cabinet at some point.

@PMessinger Oh, yes, certainly one of the best bargains in single malt Scotch whisky. The 10 ain't bad, either, and the 17 and 21 are heavenly!

@numen Wow, I'm sure that was quite the bottle. It would be a truly fantastic experience to enjoy such a dram!

@UisgeJon Thanks, it's been a treat, though there are many better bangs for the buck :)

Macallan Cask Strength. Very good scotch. It's apparently been discontinued but I'm going to try and find another before it's all gone. :)

What was the last discussion thread you wanted to finish?
This one.
I made the mistake of posting in a never ending thread I have little interest in that gets new posts pretty much every single day. Got nothing against this fine thread, just wanna stop getting spammed by notifications of every new post. Is there a way to stop subscribing to single threads?
