My wife and I have been picking at this bottle of Ardbeg Uigeadeal for more than three years now, and we finally laid it to rest. Good to the last drop. Really enjoyed it.
It was replaced with a bottle of Alligator. So maybe we'll be done that one in three years, too ;)

I finished a Glenmorangie Original and opened Balvenie DW and HP 12. What a nice jump!

Old Pulteney 12. It's always painful to see a bottle go empty, but at least I enjoyed it with good company

I 'finished off' both glennfiddich 12 and macallan 15...well actually did a vatting with them and added a few drams worth of laphroaig, abunad'h, glengoyne and cragganmore along the way. Much better when combined i'd say.

W.L. Weller Antique 107 (NAS) Not too bad, a decent high proof bourbon.

JW Black-very uneventful and underwhelming won't be buying it again. $52.00 plus tax here. And the final dram of Smokehead, tried to let it rest but couldn't, finished it off in a few days.Loved it. Will be replacing this one as soon as I get to the big city!

Been saving my last few drams of Uigeadail until I had time for the hour's drive to Binny's to replace it. Then today, the local store had a lone bottle of Uigeadail on the shelf, mixed in with the Ardbeg 10 yo's. They slapped the same price ($52) on it as for the 10 yo. I don't think they knew what they had!
Just got home from performing in a play. Now I get to end the evening by polishing off a bottle of my favorite single malt. A good night.

Glenmorangie Original and HP 12 and only one dram of Bowmore left, cabinet is starting to dwindle. Looks like an expensive day(for a senior on a fixed income) next time I'm in the city. May have to wean on Teachers till I get to Alberta in 2 weeks!

Good bye wild turkey 101. You have been a fine friend and, apologizing to the departed bottle, will be replaced shortly :)

@Nolinske Ah, yes WT 101 has a special place for me too. My first whiskey I've ever taken the time to decipher.

My first bottle of Old Potrero Single Malt Rye. Fortunately there are others in my cabinet.

My last bottle was the Tomatin 12yr old. To my surprise my admiral / wife loved this Speysider. :)

I rarely finish bottles. I "empty" them. They go into smaller bottles and it's hard to actually finish them because there's always something ele to open.
However, I recently finished a homemade blend of several bottles I emptied:
A'Bunadh 38, Aberlour 18, Dalwhinnie, glenlivet 12

I seem to go through periods of "bottle killing." In the last week I have finished off: Lagavulin 16yo, Laphroaig Triple Wood, Highland Park 12yo, and a Kilchoman Single Cask #293/2007.
I am most sad about the Kilchoman . . . it went very quickly.

@Victor: Welcome back! 'Trust your trip went well - Finished a WT.101 Rye that @Victor had recommended and it was simply stunning!
Fortunately it has a few 'stablemates' in my otherwise meager line-up of Whiskeys, and Ryes in particular: It really is a splendid 'drop' with such character and depth of flavor that a few cartons would not go astray!

Booker's. I've been drinking the stuff since 1996 and I think that this is the first bottle of it that we have finished.

Had a group of friends over last night and together we finished a bottle of Miyagikyou 10. Had a wonderful time! That bottle didn't last very long though, just picked it up last week! ; )

@Victor how was the bottle of bookers after all that time? Did the extremely high ABV help to prevent oxidation damage or have u been decanting it into smaller bottles as u went along? You are the one that convinced me through your words and my subsequent experimentation that most bourbons are better with some oxidation. I just didn't know if 17 years of oxidation was a good thing. :)

@Nolinske I want the air from @Victor's place - my open bottles would last a hell of a lot longer than they currently do!

@Nolinske @systemdown, I may have forgotten and had a bottle prior to the current bottle of Booker's. And I didn't own a bottle of Booker's the first several years after I first tasted it in 1996,...only friends' and bar drinks. This last one was open at least 3 or 4 years, though. It held up surprisingly well. I do find that the higher proof bottles seem to hold up better than the lower proof ones.

Your review of the Miyagikyou 10 is spot on in my opinion @systemdown. I would probably give it a slightly higher rating, maybe an 84, possibly 85, simply because I think this whisky really improves with a few weeks of oxidation. I've been a big fan of this whisky for some time. I think the Miyagikyou range is often overlooked, it's too bad.

@CanadianNinja Indeed the oxidative effects in a 5cl sample bottle and that in a full bottle would differ greatly. I look forward to trying it again! Agreed RE: Miyagikyou flying under the radar, it's a very good whisky!
