Finished my Glenmorangie 10 year old Original last night, but already had a replacement on the shelf, under £18 from Costco last Sunday ! Working my way through an Oban 14 year old this evening, and thoroughly enjoying it.

The last bottle I finished off was a Speyburn 10 YO that my step father brought over Thanksgiving day. It was the first time I'd had it and it was very drinkable. Almost a little too much so! Unfortunately, I have a number of open bottles right now that all seem to be on there way down. I don't have much left of this Aberlour 12 YO and I'll be sad to see it go.

My girlfriend's brother was in town from The Bahamas and he liked the big peat from the Islay whiskys I introduced him to. So the other brother (no not Darryl) bought a bottle of Arbeg Uigeadail and with a little, OK a lot, of help from our friends at a dinner party we finished it all that evening. My Elijah Craig 12 is getting dangerously low.

I just finished a bottle of Aberfeldy 12 Year Old. I found this to be a smooth, dry, and subtle dram. Very pleasant.

A bottle of Talisker 10 & a bottle of Oban 14 departed over the Christmas weekend. The Talisker will be replaced immediately, the Oban will have to wait a bit.....

Old Pulteney 21 year old. The more I drank it, the better it got. It's not like it all went down in a night or something, it was a Christmas present my stepfather and I shared. It went down pretty smooth...

Just finished off a bottle of Balvenie Doublewood. Not all that impressed with this in general, perhaps due to some oaky notes that I didn't care for. Though it did improve and reveal more complexity over the months it was open, I'll perhaps try out other Balvenies rather than replenish this.

@misslauren Agreed about the DoubleWood - it used to be pretty good, perhaps it's slipping in quality nowadays? My local giant liquor store has it for under AU $60, which, considering how expensive spirits are here (and hell, the cheapest Glen-Whatever made up name mystery single malt just comes in under $50) is definitely in the CHEAP category. I wonder if that coincides with a slip in quality? But anyway.

The last bottle I finished.. Monkey Shoulder? I must've had a decent bottling because I drank it neat, no problems. It was so good (comparatively speaking) that I felt a little bad over Christmas when I had it on the rocks with ginger ale.. if I get another bottle, I'll cut it 50/50 with Famous Grouse or something in which case I'll feel less bad about it.

Just finished a Glenfiddich 15. I have an 18 in the cabinet as well, but I really prefer the 15. It's interesting they use the Solera system only for this expression.

With first week of January behind us I have finished a superb Highland Park 12 Year Old and Singleton of Dufftown 12 Year Old. I will certainly be exploring more from the Highland Park range, but I'm not so sure about the Singleton. I saw a 15 year Old expression at my local wine store at the weekend, but don't think I'll invest in a full size bottle yet.

Hibiki 12. It was decent but I don't think it was worth the cost.

My last bottle of scotch was a Glen Moray 12yo. I love its summer fruit notes with just enough hints of smoke to make it interesting. Not sure what will replace it... am wanting to try the Glendronach 12yo which I have heard good thing about.

My last bottle of bourbon was Makers Mark, brought to a New Year's eve party. Didn't last long, even got the ladies to try it. I have since replaced it with a bottle of Buffalo Trace.

Finished my bottle of Laphroaig Quarter Cask last night. I'm going to buy the 10 year old or Cask Strength to replace it eventually.
