@KRB80 Agreed.

I'm not a fan of the Glenlivet as well - although I do enjoy the Nadurra, and this 15 yr is nice.

Just found a bottle of Gooderham & Worts small batch canadian whiskey. Bottle was priced at $30. It is my understanding that this is a quality canadian whiskey that has not been available for some time. I'm looking forward to tasting it.

I now, sadly, have a collection of closed distilleries. I have a number of expressions from Bladnoch. Other than that, I don't thinkI have any that are closed, though I have a few old bottles.

If I could find an affordable Port Ellen, Brora or Rosebank I would go for it, just to be able to say I tried them. I don't think the few molecules of P/E in Big Peat count...

Bowmore Tempest 10 Batch V, because I tasted it at Bergen Internetional Whisky & Beer Festival and loved it.

Auchentoshan American Oak. Only a few bottles in town, inexpensive by LCBO standards, like Auchentoshan stuff a lot, and am getting more into Bourbon.

Picked up another bottle of Aberlour A'bunadh. Batch number 49, got it for a steal.

I just got home from my local store where i placed an order for the Glenlivet 16yrs Nadùrra CS. Really looking forward to sampling this one. Should arrive within a week.

I wouldn't call what I paid a steal (well, unless the store is doing the stealing) but a bunch of these popped up at some LCBO stores this week.

Because this batch has received so much high praise from so many, I buckled and got my self a second bottle. Looks like the year leading up to my half century is going to be a GOOD year!

@Nozinan I noticed that the LCBO website had a bunch of A'Bunadh show up at some stores around the Toronto area. I assume this is additional stock of 49 and not the new 50 from your post? If that's the case, I might have to get another bottle :)

Octomore 6.3...

Reason: I love big, peaty cask-strength Islays. Octomore is a modern legend, and the 6.3 is the peatiest ever, so even the £ 130 price tag wasn't enough to deter me.

Absolutely the 49. The 50s are expected in March.

So you're getting another? You must like this batch. I have only heard good things about it. Realistically, I won't get to this second bottle for decades at this rate. But it will be nice to be able to drink it when A'Bunadh is but a memory of days gone by...

How many batches have you tried? I've tried 7 and have a few others pending. It may be necessary to share some different samples with you...

Octomore 6.1! I never thought of buying this one, the price tag just scared me off. But now it was on offer for just € 95,- (normal price € 139,-). So I thought: it's now or never. I'm glad I bought it, € 95,- is stil a big price tag, but it's worth it, a wonderfull whisky, an icon in the industry that you have to try before you die!

Wow....3?

I have an archive library of a number that you haven't tried, and a few bottles of others you don't mention. We should have an A'Bunadh appreciation party sometime.

Took advantage of friends trips to Quebec and Japan and had the following purchased on my behalf.

1) Nikka Tsuru 17 - by coincidence, Talexander was very fond of this bottle a couple of years ago. Fingers crossed that it is the same.

2) Springbank 15 - big fan of the 10 so very interested to try the 15

3) Bruichladdich Black Art 04.1 - bit of a sore spot as for once the LCBO is significantly cheaper than the SAQ. In discussion to have it returned and then (likely) purchase the LCBO bottle.

4) Not a whisky but saw that Dictador has distilled gin in rum barrels and had to give that one a whirl.

@JayRain, Nikka Taketsuru 17 Year old - the only disappointment you will derive from this whisky will come from not acquiring more than one bottle. Nikka 17 is a dream dram.

@JayRain Hang onto that bottle of Black Art! There are VERY very few of them in Ontario and are really hard to get. Yes the price is notably less, however you are holding a bottle now, don't take a chance that any will be out there (or at least insure that you have one from Ontario before you return the other!)

Old Grand-Dad 114, 2 more bottles, this time for my sister. When I told her they were 'de-listed' in our county she asked for a couple for herself.

I also noticed that Jim Beam Black Label is now locally labeled "XA" = 'extra-aged'. The Jim Beam Black Label 8 Years Old age statement (US domestic release) is now a thing of the past.

Bunnahabhain 18. I got convinced to buy the 12 last month after passing over it for a long long time. I fell in love and then found a shop getting rid of stock to clear shelves and selling the 18 for dirt cheap. So I bought it.
