A couple of bottles of independent bottlings of Clynelish and a bottle of Octomore 7.2.

Haven't bought yet...I figured I would seek Connosr opinions first:
Amrut Intermediate Sherry v.s. Amrut Portonova???

@KRB80, buy them both, with Intermediate Sherry Matured first.
Intermediate Sherry is beautiful, elegant, and potent. Portonova is a bit more gamey in a rough-around-the-edges sort of way, but nonetheless quite delicious!

@KRB80 agree with @Victor . I have them both and love them both.

Tamdhu Batch Stength 002 edition. I finished my A’bunadh lot 54 long ago and am almost out of my Glendronach 15 and looking for a sherry bomb for my shelf. I saw a very high rating on this bottle in one of the world competition lists and sifted through reviews online hearing a lot of high praise. Nothing here on Connosr though except one review of Batch 001. Lagavulin 12year cask strength 2017. This is a bottle I’ve never had but always wanted to try. I saw some high ratings and reviews of the 2017 version and decided this was the year to splurge. My wife has these bottles hidden away now. I’m hopeful of seeing them again in a week or so.

@sengjc These Clynelish look yummy. There almost no Clynelish available in my neck of the wood other than the 14 yo. When I feel for an other Clynelish, I have to look for anything by Compass Box.

@MadSingleMalt The wife of course! Anything she deems expensive goes into her stash of birthday/Christmas presents for future dissemination. I’m not complaining though. I get to spend a little more on a bottle that way.

@Robert99 Clynelish has such good body to it. A perfect backbone for a vatted malt.

I just bought a bottle of Wild Turkey rare breed. I like the wild Turkey 101 a lot and a trusted friend told me I would probably like the rare breed as well.

@Bilbo161 I am curious about that Tamdhu CS. There are some great reviews of it and other... So so. Those that are not in love with it have a tendancy to compare it with A'bunadh because they are close in price. It is probably a mistake to do so. Therefore, I am looking forward for your opinion.

Get both, mate. They are both good. If you have to pick one. Then the Intermediate Sherry.

@KRB80 If you get both consider opening 1 at a time. I find some Amruts fade after 6-9 months.

Pretty much the same for me.
A lot of the indie Clynelish, if not all, have been sourced from overseas.

@sengjc As a Canadian, I have one more reason to weep as it is illegal to send alcohol by mail in Canada.

Just picked up a replacement Laph QC. It's not what it was when it first appeared 5 or 6 years ago and the price has gone up quite shockingly, but it is still a cabinet mainstay. And as I mentioned in another thread, it makes a very good 50/50 blend with the standard 10 year old.

Found a few great deals while stopping at two random shops:
-Nectar D'Or (great dram, cheapest price I have seen) - $60
-Laphroaig CS Batch #4 (hear great things) - $80
-Kilkerran Bourbon Cask (based on great reviews, why not try given price) -$58
-Glenlivet Nadurra (original 16 year version, hard to find given NAS version now) - $80

I don’t know if it counts as buying but I just got a nearly full bottle of Aultmore 12 (literally just “the neck” gone from it) because an acquaintance from a Facebook group got it last year and hated it. He was just looking to et rid of it. He wanted nothing in return, but I insisted he take at least two 60ml samples: Redbreast 12 CS and Ardbeg Uigeadail. He had never tried either and I couldn’t in good conscience receive something without giving something back.

@OdysseusUnbound I got a free bottle of Aultmore 12 in loot bag when I was forwarded a ticket to a "Last Great Malts of Scotland" event. I gave it to a colleague. I tried it at the event and my notes indicate "would not turn down - would not buy". I guarantee that bottle, opened or not, could spend 20 years in my cabinet, because I have too much other stuff I'd reach for.
But it's not a bad trade...

@Nozinan 120 ml for about 700ml is pretty good. I wanted to try it, and it’s $80, so I figure I came out alright. I’ll have to try it some time this week. It’s already had a year of air exposure.

Another shipment from Alberta. This will be the last for a while unless they get some more interesting bottles in at these reasonable prices.

@Astroke Very nice. I'd love to try a cask strength Bunnahabhain one day. Is that one peated or unpeated?

@OdysseusUnbound I have bottles of johnny Walker green 15yo (from before they rereleased it), laphroaig quarter Cask, and Ballantine 17 yo that I’ll never get to. Any interest in trades? Just not a fan of them. All 80% full.

@nooch Depends what you're interested in, I guess. Where are you located?

@msudukie, which Kilkerran is that? I assume it's one of the WIP bottles from yesteryear.
Or if you don't already know which edition it is, what's the ABV and the label color? One of us with the secret decoder ring will figure it out.
