@MadSingleMalt - It is the Bourbon wood version 6. Read some really great things so looking forward to opening it.

Port Charlotte 10 2nd Edition - Opened the PC SB over the weekend and it confirmed what I remembered from sampling a couple of PCs at a festival a few months ago.
Saw the 10 at a good price and was surprised it was still available so snapped it up. The PC 12 (IB) I tasted was excellent but near £100 and probably all sold out now so the 10 will have to do!
From what little info out there I can find, feedback seems very positive. Has anyone tried the 10? Any good?

@Astroke ha ha no worries. It'll be interesting to hear how you find it. Enjoy!

@RianC, I have a recently opened bottle of the Port Charlotte 10 Mark II. I've only had two drams from it, but it's quite enjoyable, the dram develops well and there are some wine casks in the vatting for interest. If you enjoyed the profile of the PC SB, you won't be disappointed.

@cricklewood - Thanks! I have the 2nd Ed Laddie 10 as well and am quite excited to try these varieties of casks.

Just picked up a bottle of Aberlour A’Bunadh. I’ve tried Batch 58 before and wanted one for myself. I really need to stop purchasing until the new year.

@OdysseusUnbound With the price of A'bunadh rising so high, one of the few places it is still reasonable is Ontario. $120+ in Alberta sans tax. So picking it up now is the right move

Greetings to you all. I have waited to write up a story. If you had read many of my previous posts here and other threads you will know that I am quite fond of The Glenlivet 16yo Nadurra. You will also know that I got lucky finding some bottles in my location (Denver, Colorado) in small-ish size liquor shops, one of them being Batch 0606A.
So you won't be surprised that this new post is about the 16yo Nadurra. The TotalWine store in Seattle, at their Bellevue location, still has a few 16yo Naddura, batch 0814D on the shelf. Even with the high tax in Washington state, the cost 77.50 (with tax) per bottle. My friend was visiting her children in Seattle and got me a couple of bottles. I didn't want to burden her with paying for more and having to wait for me to get her the money. I called Totalwine and they informed me that I could actually order them and have someone pick them up for me. So, I ended up buying five more bottles. HA! Yes, so I will be receiving, once I meet up with my friend, a total of seven bottles.
Because my friend lives in West Yellowstone, Montana, I am guessing I will be able to get the whisky some time in late Spring or early Summer. I will attach a photo, of one of the boxes, just so you can see, for those who are interested, seeing the ABV, 55.7%.
This is definitely a good way to end this crazy 2017.

@ajjarrett That smacks of gloating.... I'm given to understand that's a fantastic batch...
Well played!

@Nozinan I just wished I could afford to buy more. HA! I guess I will just have to wait next year, and hope that they don't sell them in the meantime. Once I open a bottle, I will definitely come back on Connosr to describe my experience.

@Astroke Stop it ! I don’t need any more friends enabling my impulse purchases!

@Nozinan I believe it may have been you who convinc d me to grab a bottle of Batch 54 A’bunadh and I loved it. Is 60 another good one?

@Bilbo161 I actually have not tried either. I was able to get a 54 after I heard it was great, thanks to @Mancub picking it up. I will try it in 5 1/2 years.
The 60 is to celebrate my 60th birthday... in 11 1/2 years.

@newreverie Last bottle I bought was $95 CDN,which is $74 US. The price is $100 cdn in Ontario which is $78 US. So, still a better deal in Ontario,I think. I gave the price in Alberta as that is the Scotch price/selection mecca of Canada with the exception of Aberlour for some reason.

@Astroke I remember only a few years ago the price in Cowtown was about $80-85.

@Nozinan I saw some price sheets and online prices for many stores in Calgary and Aberlour seems to be higher than Ontario across the board. The Aberlour distributor out there must be the same distributor for Ardbeg in Ontario.

@Astroke Quite probably. Or...maybe the price of Ardbeg will come down in Ontario....
We can dream...

@Nozinan By your rationale, I should hold on to my Batch 58 for another 20 years. I really don’t see that happening.

@OdysseusUnbound Not everyone has to have the same compulsion to match batches to their age... Consider yourself lucky.

@ajjarrett I think that's the same batch I have and have yet to open.

@ajjarrett, an excellent search-and-rescue story. Nadurra 16 YO is one of my favourite single malts. For me, the most memorable batches to date have been 11/11 and 7/12. This particular batch from Seattle was also discovered last year in Calgary by @Nozinan and @Nosebleed. I had the good fortune to receive one of the two bottles they retrieved; however I have yet to open this bottle. Thank you for revealing the location of the store. Good luck to those who might seek out the remaining bottles of batch 0814D

You can be sure that any bottles of Nadurra found, especially that batch, at under $100 will be rescued from the shelves of unsuspecting mom and pop stores in Calgary later this month.
