@maltygirl
Of all the batches I've had (32,33,34,36,38,44) I found 38 to be the the most "green", and the 36, which I only have tried once from a fresh bottle, had a sulfury note which I hope may dissipate.
The 42 and 45 have had excellent reviews.

I just polished off the last of my Nector D'or. Oddly enough it seemed to benefit from a good amount of oxidization. It was at its best during the last month or so before I finished it. I'd like to replace it, but I think I may give the Arran Sauternes cask a go next time around. Hopefully it's worthy of being double the price of the Nectar D'or.

Johnnie Walker Green Label for my part, what a pity that Diageo stops production of the best whisky of the range Johnnie Walker. Not enough margin probably, just malts and no grain in this excellent blend...

@ricko, my lovely wife gave me 2 bottles of the JW Green for Christmas. I was very happy to add these to my cabinet, a great whisky indeed ; ) According to @hunggar however, this whisky is still being produced for some markets, the Taiwanese market being one of them. I know that it will no longer be available here in Japan, but other markets seem to be continuing to have it on store shelves...

Finished off my first bottle of Redbreast 12 yr, luckily I have a spare on hand. That one is going to have a permanent spot in my bar.

I got through AnCoc 16yr old and High West Campfire both were great and really recommend giving them a go. :)

@hunggar Glad to hear about the Nectar D'Or. I opened a bottle for my office around Christmas time - in my opinion, a very good Glenmorangie, and I'm very hit-and-miss about Glenmo' - so perhaps I'll let it sit open for a while and see how it tastes in a few months...

Just finished off my Bruichladdich 2006 Dunlossit Farm. Very lovely dram. Too bad Bruichladdich is getting harder and harder to find around here these days...

Knob Creek 9 Year Old. It was good, but the Elijah Craig that has taken its place as my open bourbon stomps it. So much better.

Mid-February 2014 and finally an early spring-like day in Northern Michigan. Current temp 42*F and more snow around me then I can recall in decades. But I am out sitting on my outside deck, finishing off the last of a bottle of Knappough Castle 12yo irish whiskey. Complex it is not. Bold, kick-you-in-the- face style it is not. But light, refreshing, and flavorful it is. Just like hope eternal that true spring is on it's way. Cheers !

Polished off a Jefferson Rye 10 yr barrel pick. I'm close on a couple other bottles. Now, if I can just keep from opening new bottles.

@Bourbondork
I feel the same way. I don't want to have too many open bottles but because I drink so little it takes forever to finish them (I have a couple of bottles open more than 3 years). And there are so many full bottles calling to me.

@talexander: Agreed about The Nectar D’or. Wonderful stuff. I still haven’t tried the Arran Sauternes release yet, but I’m hoping it’s as good as @Victor says. After loving the Nectar D’or so much, I find myself on the lookout for more sauternes-finished stuff. Benriach, Bruichladdich, Edradour, Tullibardine, Hazelburn, and Glendronach all have Sauternes finishes available, to name a few.
Just polished off my OP12. Classic dram, and for less than half the price of the 17 here in Taiwan.

finally ive finished/ drinking my last dram now of my Glenlivet Masters Distillers Reserve. A decent enough dram but there comes a time when you want a bottle out of your life. Next task, my bowmore darkest

Amrut Two continents 2nd Edition. Couple of minutes ago. God that was good! I'm already looking for the next Amrut. Hope I can get my hands on a Portonova.

The last one I finished was Connemara peated Irish whiskey - I have mixed feelings about it. Certainly not great, but corse like a farmer's veriety of the gret Islay's...

Just finished The Laddie 10. It was a Christmas present from a loved one. Probably the fasted bottle I've ever finished. I loved it not only for the quality and flavor but that my family is finally understanding and indulging me in my whisky hobby...cheers to all my buddies on connosr!

Just finished a bottle of Highland Park 15. After having a few bottles go South on me recently, my mind-set has changed to what I have heard many recommend over the last few years. Drink them while they are still good! The private preserve is helpful but obviously it has limits. Many more bottles to post here soon...

Two large pours of Rittenhouse Rye 100 BIB killed the bottle on Saturday night. It was a very nice bottle. The final pour brought a whiff of peanut brittle on a couple of occasions. This note is something that I have discovered recently with some rye based bourbons (a sample of Sazerac 18 that I was fortunate enough to try in February had the peanut brittle in spades).

Springbank Claret Wood finish. I think I left the last decanted dram a little too long. The nose is nice but not as I remember it. the palate is a bit hot.
I opened this bottle 3 years ago. It's one of the several remaining bottles from my first 6 months of my whisky journey. I still have a few bottles from that era, most decanted. The HP 12 still good, the Laddie classic, still good... and 1-2 drams of PEAT, Amrut Fusion, and 2 bottles of Glen Breton that I need to do something with. So hopefully I can post a few more here, then go to something newer.

My first "fully documented" (thank you Signatory labeling) indie bottle purchase saw its end last night after about 18 months. The Signatory UCF Collection Clynelish 18 (18/12/92-18/5/11, bourbon hogsheads #17272/73, bottle 265 of 771) was not an active cask, but was a very enjoyable, lighter profile, offering. Some nice honey and wax, along with grassy and some peppery notes.
I have noticed that the final pours of most of my bottles (since they last 18+ months, typically) benefit from a small amount of water being added. Either in removing off notes, or in opening up a profile that had started to shut down.

@Nozinan, will you be posting a review of the Springbank Claret? I've read nothing but good stuff so far.

@OlJas
Not this time. I hadn't had a dram in over half a year and this dram was past it's Best Before state. Once I've confirmed I have a couple of extra bottles stashed away in Calgary, I'll probably open a bottle I have here and once I've had a couple of drams I can probably do it. But the last bottle was only "so - so" until a year after I opened it. Then I really liked it. So it either needs time or my palate needed time.

Highland Park 8 yo (The MacPhail's Collection). Sweet barley with gentle smoke. Fresh and engaging. Great value. I will be getting another bottle of this.

Finished the last of my 'Farclas 15 tonight. Even after a year, flawless sherried perfection in a glass.

So, my bottle of BenRiach 'Arumaticus Fumosus', which took a dent yeasterday at a whisky evening with friends, died tonight, R.I.P. I love the rum notes, the subdued peat - so very different from most other bottles. Maybe I'll get the 15YO next..

Glenmorangie 'Lasanta' and this particular bottle is outstanding; there have been mixed reviews about this Whisky but this is special. I'll be back for another!
