Johnnie Walker Green 15 yr.
It's been 3 - maybe 4 years since I had a bottle, and for $49 it's a good deal considering the quality, and enjoyment I get from this blended single malt.

@FMichael I couldn't agree more, for that price I'd bought a few.
I had a couple drams the other day, great stuff. I followed them up with a pour of Old Charter 10y in the same class with out rinsing it out. It's not really a vatting but the hint of JWG was amazing.

@Victor What a catch! This 57 North is on my whish list since I had a sip at your place. Enjoy It!
@Sengjc The Talisker 57 may have been on my whish list but any old Clynelish at Cask Strenght is on my Dream List!

Just purchased several bottles of Amrut Portonova, which has been on my want list for some time. With Nozinan's encouragement, decided to finally act. Noticed that several European mail order vendors have run out over past few weeks. Pleased to have not waited any longer.

Had to drop by one of my regular shops since I found out they're closing after 134 years... Picked up a bottle of 1792 Small Batch from a store selected barrel.

@newreverie I'm interested to hear your thoughts on the 2001 KC and whether you think it's worth the price . Everything I've heard thus far says it's good but maybe not worth the considerable markup over a store pick.

I wish we had regular access to the likes of ECBP, Laphroaig CS, etc.... It's no fun having to impose on people in the States to pick them up for me and then wait for ages to get it over...

@Astroke, no,in the US the batches of ECBP sell out quickly when they come in. They are occasional, and they must be pounced on quickly. There might be the rare off the map store where they sit around for awhile, but that doesn't happen where I live.

@Astroke it seems to be. A friend in Seattle got me 2 different batches couple of months apart. You probably have to know where to go, but it seeks quite available.
A quick search at www.acespirits.com showed that it is available for $70 US and OGD 114 is $20 right now, for anyone interested.

@InGreatSpirits The interesting thing about the Knob 2001 is that there are 3 distinct batches. Between me and my dad we have batch 1 and batch 2. My understanding is that Batch 1 is a sweeter profile bourbon whereas Batch 2 is more woody. Batch 3 is supposed to fall between the above.
I'm not sure when I will open my bottle, so you may have to look elsewhere for feed back.

@Nozinan @Victor If either of you are interested in a bottle of ECBP I can grab another and bring it to the summit, i forget the proof, but I am sure they are the latest batch release. There are a few more floating around, but they probably won't last the week. The same is true for the Knob 2001.

@InGreatSpirits One more comment on the KC2001. I have no doubt that a well selected Knob Creek Single Barrel will be better than KC2001. That said, 14-15yr bourbons for $130 are hard to come by and can offer some complexities that the 9yr SBs lack. I've had the Wild Turkey Master's Keep which is priced about the same and it is excellent. My Blade and Bow 22yr was a little more expensive and it is also outstanding although a little too wood forward.
I am convinced that the best bottle of bourbon for the money are the Taylor Barrel Proofs. I've had three different batches, all had unique and different flavor profiles. All among the best bourbons I have ever had. It is a 95+ point bourbon that sells for $70.

@newreverie could not agree more with everything you said in your last comment. I'm close to finishing my second bottle of the 63.6% batch and definitely consider it one of the better bang for your buck bourbons assuming you can find them

@newreverie realized I never clarified, I was referencing the Taylor Barrel Proof

Visited the SAQ while on a trip to Ottawa and picked up a bottle of GlenDronach 15 year old Revival. I've read a number of favorable reviews, one in particular that mentioned the smell and taste of Swedish fish, after that I was pretty much sold. With the 15 yr old revivals recent discontinuation and information that a 2015 bottling actually contains 20 year old juice due to the distillers closed doors between 1996-2001, the value and intrigue peaked my interest even further. I love a whiskey with an interesting story.

@newreverie, yeah, I just bought just about the last bottle of ECBP Batch # 11, 69.7% ABV in my county this morning. I like to taste all of the batches, but I am not compulsive about having to own bottles of each one of them.

@paddockjudge Yes,still good stuff. Checked most of the bottles and they were all this batch.

@Astroke,
Agreed, it is still good stuff; however, the anise/black licorice note is huge in this batch, L16 008.
Batch variation keeps things interesting.

@paddockjudge a little oxidation does help with this batch, for me anyway.

@newreverie That's very kind of you but I likely will not be at the summit to pick up the bottle, and I suspect any Canadians going will use up the. I have what is likely, once I open a bottle, a multi year supply of ECBP as I figure a bottle at that strength will last me a very long time.

I've been focusing on rye whiskies lately (in no small part due to @paddockjudge's flight of ryes on the second day of the Ontario whisky summit) and decided to add a couple more bottles to my collection. Neither of which are 100% rye, but from reading reviews and tasting notes, I think they should both have flavour profiles along the lines of what I'm looking for:
Wiser's Double Still Rye
Centennial Limited Edition Rye
I think I'll start with the Centennial.

In the absence of any EC or Taylor Barrel Proof bottles around me... I just got a club bottle that's a Signatory un-chillfiltered 19yr Glenlivet.

A family member just returned from a short vacation in Scotland and surprised me with a bottle of Talisker 18yo. He had a sample at the distillery per my recommendation and really enjoyed. Enough so to buy each of us a bottle of the 18yo expression. He felt bad that he was unable to obtain my requested bottle of The Balvenie 21yo Port Wood. Neither of us realized that Balvenie requires reservations to visit. Schedule did not allow for a return visit. Still grateful for the gift of the Talisker 18yo. Very generous.

I just ordered 2 Laphroaig CS batch 8 and 2 Laphroaig Cairdeas 2016 which I won in a ballot. I also tacked on 3 of Nozinan's mini Glencairns to my order which I paid for with my FoL points! The only place you can get Laphroaig CS from over here is the distillery shop and then you've got to be really quick. I've been checking the Laphroaig website daily for the last fortnight trying to ensure that I wouldn't miss out when they become available!

Just got the Michter's 10 rye and bourbon in. Hearing good things about the rye so may try it tonight.

@Robert99
Yup, I am increasingly drawn towards independent bottlings of Clynelish and Mortlach myself too.
