@ajjarrett LCBO has one listed in Waterloo at $70. Not bad for a discontinued classic. I don't know where the one in the picture was bought but I can see the batch number in the expanded photo.

@Nozinan HA. I didn't even try to expand. My mistake. I should have known to do that too, since I have uploaded a few photos on here. Yes, $70 is a very good price. Here in Denver, Colorado, I was happy to find it at $85-87 USD (price includes tax).

This is one batch I haven't seen in my area, so I will say, this was a good buy, for you, @fiddich1980.

@ajjarrett The thing is, the only way this would be available is if someone returned it. KGBO only accepts returns if they are recent enough to be resold (one of my gifted Chivas bottles was too old). Then they put it for sale at the last price it was listed at.

Anywhere else there would be a clear mark-up.

@Nozinan I see. Well, I know it is wishful thinking, but I still hope to find a bottle or two in small and out of the way shops.

@ajjarrett @Nozinan I was in Kitchener, Ontario, to see a friend and it was on the shelf. The other two bottles were NAS. There was no box which makes it likely, a return. I ran across something similar to this situation with a Balvenie 21 47.6% ABV, a few years ago.

@fiddich1980 Again, congratulations on getting a bottle of the 16yo Nadurra. I haven't tried any of the NAS Nadurra expressions, and some of my friends have been successfully and deterring me from trying them. Even if it was a return, it is a lucky purchase, as they are becoming more scarce.

@Nozinan That Waterloo store is near my office. I have gotten a lot of things there on managers clearance. Old Pulteny 12, JW Green, Wiser Dissertation all for over 20% off list price. Haven't seen anything for the last couple of months though.

@fiddich1980 That one is quite a bit older than the 08/14 I bought last year. Let us know how you like it.

@BlueNote It maybe a while before I open it but, when I do I will let you know. Does any body have an opinion on Benrinnes. I have an old Signatory bottling which I am planning to open?

I just picked up my first ever bottle of Ardbeg Uigeadail today. I’ve been outspoken about NAS malts, but this is more of a labeling concern than a “how does the whisky taste?” concern. Many thanks to @Nozinan for the help, generous selection of samples and the warm hospitality (however brief, because of snafus on my end). I’d love to try it tonight, but I’m still a bit tired from the Quaich dinner/tasting and the many drinks afterwards with my brother.

@OdysseusUnbound LCBO bottle? Ardbeg's are not very price friendly at the LCBO.

@OdysseusUnbound

@Astroke Not an LCBO bottle, thankfully. Oogie's pricing in Ontario goes well over my self-imposed moratorium on whiskies over $100/bottle.

The mothership has landed, I've been waiting for a few months for my friend to return from South Carolina with these beauties.

The Whistlepig is a single barrel store selection at 56.7% abv. I finally get to try ADL juice at high proof! I've been thinking of getting a bottle of both Masterson's Rye and Alberta Premium to do a vertical session.

I drove to the Alexandria LCBO from Montreal for a bottle of JP Wiser's Dissertation. I'm so glad I did. Absolutely the best Canadian whisky I've ever had.

@GoHabs A worthwhile drive indeed. I'm currently working my way through a bottle of dissertation and it's got such presence. It makes up a little for not having easy access to Northern Border collection

@cricklewood It maybe necessary to send a small sample with one of our colleagues when he is in town so you can try an expression or 2.

Jose Cuervo Reserva de La Familia Extra-Anejo Tequila. Enrique Rosas is the artist featured on the wooden box. This one was released in 2014.

Why? I've loved this tequila for years now and never owned a bottle. It's a tad expensive. Today I did some research and saw that the non-sale price for it in my county, $ 93.99, is lower than the lowest price in the world listed on wine-searcher.com's public pages. I had an additional $ 15 off $ 100 purchase special coupon to add to it. With the added purchase of some sherry the effective price for the Reserva de La Familia is more like $ 81.50 plus 9% tax, or about $ 89 total. Typical price is around $ 150 most places.

Reserva de La Familia is one of the woodiest tequilas you will ever see. Reserva is to tequila like a 15 yo Willett Family Reserve Bourbon is to bourbon.

@Nozinan, not whisk(e)y, so not yet my whisky bottle purchase # 10 since 15 Sep 2016.

I'll open this bottle soon. Maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow.

@Victor Great purchase! The Jose Cuervo Reserva de La Familia is near the top of my list since you suggested it to me. There is a single bottle just a few minutes away from me but it's $180 CAD.

Just got an email from the KGBO that my G&W Little Trinity has shipped. I guess I shouldn’t jinx it by celebrating until it’s in my house. Looking at my slowly-expanding Canadian whisky section, I guess you could say I have a bit of a crush on Don Livermore. I’m also debating between picking up a new bottle of Dissertation (mine is gone) and one of 2 remaining bottles of Last Barrels....

I absolutely hate the new HP bottles that look like Louis Vitton bags or something. Prefer the old style plain bottle. Not seen one in the flesh so maybe they don't look as bad as they do in pictures.

A couple more bottles of the Ardbeg Dark Cove that are reasonably priced.

These are getting expensive, even for Australian standards. Came across these that are still reasonably priced and could not resist adding them to the burgeoning stockpile.

Just bought a bottle of JP Wiser’s Last Barrels. I was just going to get some white wine for my wife and there was only one bottle of LB left on the shelf. I guess FOMO kicked in and I had to get one. I regret nothing.
