@Nozinan, yep, three in hand and the fourth with you. I bought Mary Anne Tullamore DEW Phoenix and Cutty Sark Prohibition today. Those don't count since I am giving them to her, but I look forward to drinking some of them in the future, too. My own bottles of Phoenix and Prohibition are almost gone.

Stagg Jr. - because last timw it was listed by LCBO it sold out before I could even try to get a bottle, and because I've been told it's good.
At 65% (LCBO said 66.4) this one promises a lot..... let's see how it delivers.

Recently purchased a Masterson's 10 year 100% rye because I'd heard many good things and the LCBO was offering it at a $21 discount. Next, a bottle of Laphroaig Cairdeas 2016 Madeira Cask - I've always missed out on the Cairdeas so when the LCBO offered it from their online shop I was happy to jump on it. I also purchased a bottle of Storas 21 year Rare Cask Reserve from William Grant and Sons as the LCBO slashed the price 53% from $189 to $89. Such large discounts are not often seen at the LCBO so it is always good to take advantage of them when you can. It's also interesting to note that this is an LCBO exclusive and there were only 4600 bottles produced. Looking forward to opening it in the next week with a friend who's about to become a dad.
@Nozinan Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the latest Stagg Jr. They seem to get snagged up pretty quick and also don't tend to make it out of the bigger stores in Toronto. It's an intriguing bourbon though cherry is not my favorite flavor profile.

Some recent additions:
uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161210/… - Another bottle of the Glenfiddich IPA Experiment "Experimental Series 01". - Another bottle of the Glenfiddich Project XX "Experimental Series 02". - An old 1L bottle of the Glenfiddich 12 Year Old Caoran Reserve "Peat Ember" that I managed to chance upon, sitting on a store shelf gathering dust. An interesting looking bottle: a peated Glenfiddich.
uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161210/… - Another bottle of the New World Projects Starward Limited Release from PX Cask #3. - Another bottle of the Glendronach 18 Year Old "Allardice". - A bottle of the SMWS 30.91, an 18 year old Glenrothes that was matured in a refill sherry gorda. - A pot-still shaped miniature of the Kavalan Brandy Oak.
It's Christmas.

With the arrival of the holidays, and keenly aware of the increased entertaining that occurs with it, I decided to bolster my current offering/choices. Just added bottles of Benromach 10yo 100 proof, Nikka From The Barrel, Glenlivet 16yo Nadurra, and Redbreast Lustau Edition. A happy holidays indeed.

A private cask bottling of Sullivans Cove whisky.

@sengjc, I would not be surprised if you had your own 'private' bottling.

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Batch 12. Why? Well, after hearing today that Beam Suntory was going to double the price of Booker's, I decided not to stock up and to avoid their products for a time. Fortuitously, I stopped in a liquor for some beer, and unexpectedly found the ECBP that I have been looking for for 2 years. Seems like the perfect replacement for my nearly empty bottle of Booker's.

@gfc I would have picked up the ECBP regardless of any decisions by Beam Suntory. It's impossible to find here and it is an exceptional whiskey.
Very sad to hear about the Booker's though. It's one of my favourite reasonably priced bourbons. Luckily I have enough to last me a few years

Not a purchase but another trade. My Crown Royal Cask 16 to a gentleman from New York for 1 bottle of Blanton's SFTB (70 cl, 125.6 Proof) and a bottle of Rock Hill Farm's which I enjoy but have not seen here in some time. Why; trading a CR Cask 16 for the these 2 is a no brainer.

@Astroke,
I must admit I'm envious of your trade; for not owning those two great bourbons and also for not negotiating a trade for the cask No.16. That's an excellent parlay.

A little while ago I grabbed a couple of 200 ml bottles of Dillon's Rye, Cask #1. I haven't yet tried it, but I hear good things.

@paddockjudge I had the Cask 16 on Bottle Spot for like a year for trade only. I had 3 at the time 1 opened and 2 not opened. I finished one and broke down and opened the second, now 3/4 full. I even had somewhat of a want list. Even named AP 25/30 as a trade bottle. I also mentioned the trade on Davin's site in the Cask 16 review comments and nothing.

@Astroke,
can't say I've looked at the Cask No.16 thread on Davin's sight in a while. I'm not familiar with bottle spot..is that on Reddit?
Not sure that I'd trade AP25 or 30 for Cask 16; however, I do recall stating that I had put away a sample of both 25 and 30 for you.

@paddockjudge As you can see there is not much action out of Ontario, but this is big in the US

@Astroke I have at least 1 unoppened Cask 16 and would gladly trade it for a Alberta 25 or 30!
7 years ago 0
@newreverie So would I, unfortunately those collectors who prize Cask 16 don't usually have AP 25/30 to offer. I am more than happy with what I received for my Cask 16.

@Astroke You did far better than me. I traded a Maccallan Cask Strength for my Blanton's SFTB
7 years ago 0
@newreverie Ouch! Same guy is now offering 1 Four Roses OBSK Single Barrel/barrel strength store select and 1 Four Roses Elliott's Select Ltd Edition for my ORVW 10 107. I may have to pull the trigger on that as well.
7 years ago 0
@Astroke I'd take that deal every day. You can just fill an empty bottle with @Benancio Van Winkle 107 recipe if you want to keep something around for yourself.

Old Pulteney 12, Talisker Storm, Knob Creek NAS, Don Julio Anejo, Bacardi 8yr plus a couple of gins. OP and Talisker bought with voucher 20 & 26 GBP respectively OP I know I like Storm at that price worth a punt working way through range. KC & DJ £25 & £40 Amazon deals and Bacardi 8 gets good reviews like I have said on another post spreading my money around as Scotch prices rise.

Just got the call from Houston's main liquor store. They are holding a Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve 23yr for me at the retail price of $270

@newreverie Gotta love news like that. Congrats! In Ontario we have the lottery for Pappy and BTAC coming up in about a months time. Several Thousand entries from eager buyers and less than 100 bottles to go around, but there is always hope!
7 years ago 0
@Mancub BTAC is late this year. I thought I had missed it. Mind you, though I won the right to pay $130 for a bottle of Handy in 2014 I've had no luck in any lottery since. I'm thinking it's easy to hit the 6/49 jackpot than a BTAC. Now if I won 6/49, I could go to the secondary market that I've heard about...
7 years ago 0
@Nozinan You're not wrong, the odds of winning aren't great, but not so bad that I'm not just the tiniest bit hopeful. Someone on Reddit said that they know a person who had over 40 entries (friends and family). I can see having one or two friends try to help you out, but this doesn't seem to be in the spirit of a fair lottery. With that said, I'm sure there aren't too many people with that many entries, I hope. Stay hopeful, you may get the opportunity to spend your money if you're lucky ;)

Is the deadline for entering the BTAC and Pappy lottery over? If not can you send me the link

@Victor
One day, my friend. One day...
With any luck I will hope to own a distillery with a in-house whisky bar (or at least a share in one).
